At the heart of the mountain, nestled in a creek, Collioure is a small village surrounded by vineyards located 7km away from the campsite Les Chênes Rouges.

Bell tower of Collioure, that of the Church Notre Dame des Anges, is the flagship building of the city. This building is full of history, passing from a military building to a religious steeple.

Other religious buildings are present in the town like the chapel St Vincent, at the end of Collioure, on a rock of shale.

Higher up in the vineyards, you can also discover the hermitage of Notre Dame de Consolation, far from the crowds and in the heart of lush greenery. Tables are at your disposal for a picnic in the countryside, far from the summer bustle.

For beach lovers, you can discover the rocky coast and the pebble beaches, from Sant Vicens to the Faubourg and to the edge of Port-Vendres, with the creeks of the Blue Rocks.

The small port of Collioure brings color and history with the Catalan boats near the Chateau Royal. True fortified historic village you can follow the fort on the edge of the sea raised on an ancient Roman site. Tours are organized to discover a piece of Catalan history.

Another historic building, Fort Saint Elme overlooks the city of Collioure. Military building designed by Vauban, you will discover an exceptional view of Collioure, Argelès-sur-Mer and Port Vendres while being in the heart of the vineyards.

Collioure being an old market town, when you walk through the many flowery streets of the city, you can discover the Mouré district, with its small colorful fishermen’s houses and its many stairs, overlooking the sea.

It is all these riches of landscapes and colors that have seduced many artists like André Matisse, thus inspiring the current of Fauvism.
